An unconventional request for OCEANIA map
« on: November 02, 2017, 05:54:06 PM »
Don't have much hopes, but here I go.

Remove the Me 163B 'Komet' from this map only

*ducks*

Yes, I'm possibly the player with most kills in the 163 after GHI, and my A.D.D. personality thoroughly enjoys getting easy kills as quick like that. But still I'm making this request.
Why? Because of this:

That would be a nice area to finally get some old fashioned bomber missions together for. A huge City and three extra factories.
Yet we will only see the rare brave suicidal single pilot. And it's mostly about the Komets.
Three large uncapturable high altitude  airfields with ME 163, each not more than a half sector away form the strats - except for the HQ (one sector), for which the 163 originally was meant to be.

In my opinion, this area is the only carrot left to get some true mid to high altitude bomber raids going again. Usually, those can be seen long enough to get some conventional fighters in the air, especially considering those bases are at 5k. With this setup, the huge city is still a target requiring considerable effort and not without risk.
Having Komets covering every approach with less than a half sectors is simply too much of a deterrence for Joe Average.

And what about the HQ?
The HQ is much harder with much less basic downtime than it ever had been before. I have the (optimistically) feeling that there is no great risk in trying this.

Keep ALL Komets, Provide a perk point based air-spawn for each country that can only be used when a minimum number of players "queue up" into it....

...Is it getting hot in here?

Hitech chose to do that I suppose because I chose to not place Flak bases in with the strats. I wanted to give bomber guys a chance and originally only one field had 163 enabled. I figured this map would last 1 maybe 2 days and it wouldn't matter if the strats got pounded around the clock. If you haven't explored the mountain ranges around the strats and HQ, many of them have deep valleys you can run NOE all the way from the coast. Maybe see if he will return it to one 163 field so bomber missions and strat runners will take a shot at those areas. It's very hard on this terrain to hide other than NOE by design.

+1 not only for the strats reasons but because 163s end up getting used a good way away from the strats (for airfield attacks and suppression, roles they were never intended for) because the 163 bases are located so close to the other fields.

I haven't seen a map yet where the Bomber pilot couldn't reach the strats. because the 163 bases are close shouldn't make too much difference.
oh wait I usually fail in the 163 but I forgot there are 163 pros out there.
sorry carry on.
it should make a better challenge for the bomber pilots, esp the B n B ones. :joystick:
