Ki-61 demise in Frame 3 of Rabaul Scenario
« on: November 15, 2017, 07:20:05 AM »
I was on vacation til Monday so this is late. Why, we're halfway to Frame 4 already!

But.. still.... watch my horrible death(s) in frame and if you watch very closely you can see the exact moment my heart breaks like Ralph Wiggums' trying to bring my ride back in.

I hope you enjoy!

Very possible. It's odd that in actual real-time I heard only one small "ping" and my wing was totally off. Another single "ping" and the other wing totally gone. In the recorded film it played lots of hits that weren't actually there to record at the time! What the hell!??! It was recorded in realtime, not from the film viewer! That's some odd stuff, there.

i'll see if i can dig out that section of my film.   All I can recall from the night was seeing you pull up after making your bomber pass about to roll/turn to the right and thats when I let the 50cal flow.

I saw so many around me but my immediate rear looked clear. I was trying to get back on those bombers. Could have nosed down and ran but they were right in front of their targets and we had to stop them.

I knew the risks, they were bad. I paid the price. My surprise was partly actual surprise about the 1-ping wing-off (and squaddie said he got the same issue, too) but partly anger at myself and the situation.
