Strat ack is occasionally accurate. Ask ThndrEGG what happened to my F4U-1A when I flew to meet him over a strat to escort him home. 28,000 ft, on the
very first poof of puffy ack, it took a wing off my plane.

Lost an aileron on one B-17 and an elevator on another just yesterday over an Ack strat... and I was at 32,000 ft. The difference in speed on ingress run and outbound run was over 70mph. I wouldn't expect the guns to have the same level of accuracy both in and out.
So I don't buy the notion that it's harmless. I agree it's not as punishing as AHII, but it shouldn't be a death trap either. Many won't defend strats at all anymore - making the ack so accurate as to guarantee plane loss will, IMO, simply make more people ignore defending them and more people unwilling to attack them. How is that good for game play?
