Can you please forward me the specs for the engines for the GV's. I would love to retrofit my 2004 Excursion with one of them, for the MPG is awesome!!

Seriously, has anyone ever run out of gas in a GV?

Nope. I doubt fuel consumption is modeled for GVs. Most people just drive to a spawn point, shut off the engine and then spend hours plinking off uppers.

  And modeling it would be a serious waste of time and resources.  An M-60A3 tank had approximately 10 hours of operating time - while constantly moving cross country.   At the idle, 50 times that long.  (you had to idle some of the time to recharge the batteries and keep the thermal sights cooled)

  I know there are dedicated GVers out there, but a 10 hour sortie?  I kind of doubt it.

One would think the thin skins could take a hit in the fuel tank.

  I know there are dedicated GVers out there, but a 10 hour sortie?  I kind of doubt it.

back in the day when HQ mattered my squad and I would on occasion drive 3 sectors to knock it down then run and hide in a barn... after the resup we would do it again.

Don't forget MA 2.0 fuel burn rate. That brings 10 hours down to 5. Still a hella lot. Maybe a different burn rate for GVs vs planes? 4x burn? Brings that down to 2.5 hours running time -- quite reasonable IMO.

Yeah with the play here even my Abrams could run all day with the fuel onboard and that thing is thirsty. Sitting still we didn't have to run the engine with the 10kw gen on the back that provided power while the engine was shut down....WWII tanks could sit still and use manual controls to fight all day in the types of situations we see in the MA..

I don't really see a need to introduce GV gas at all. Even at 2.5 hours I would imagine there are very few people who go that long in a GV in any given sortie. Even if they do, not much of that would actually be driving, so if they are sitting they just kill their engine and increase their time exponentially.

There wouldn't be any reason to take anything less than 100% either, unlike aircraft, where you may take less to get some more maneuverability in a close fight.

umm lol check with the 49ers I think they have the record for the longest gv and or PT boat run.. I've been on a few myself
