Awesome that answers my question perfectly.  Picking it up little by little. Great community so far.
 P.S. I might be bringing half the Axis airforce from ww2ol over here in the next couple weeks. lol  I am, err (was until today when i unsubbed) the XO of the biggest axis air squad over there. JG51.             They just had a steam release and it went well for about a week. Then pop dropped back off. And the developers there seem to be going in a direction that is more ground play oriented. Many of the pilots are fed up.
I've been here for 3 days and think AH3 is the freaking bees knees man. All the load out options and fuel select options etc etc.. really great. And it seems like yall actually get updates more often than once a year.   Diggin it.

Thanks again for the help. <S> :salute

Awesome! The more the merrier!

HTC is very good at updating the game. They add content often and bug fixes as soon as they are reported and fixed.

Well gents I've had a few more hours in game and have racked up a few kills here and there, ( The maneuver kill, or proxy kill as yall call it is funny as hell)
Got a few more questions, since yall are so helpfull.   Heres a silly one, and I kinda think I know the answer but not sure.... What do yall mean when ya speak of CV or GV etc...? Ground vehicle or something like that?

Also, is there a way to tell what aircraft a friendly is flying via the map? or mission info?

and lastly, if one wanted to make a new Squad, how would one go about doing so?    TY for your wisdom as always gentlemen. Your game kicks more bellybutton than a donkey farm.

GV = Ground Vehicle
CV = Carrier Vessel

For finding out what aircraft friendly are flying, I believe it's ALT-I that cycles your icon mode.  Don't forget to set it back to normal if you want to see names and not accidentally turn off enemy icons.

For squad, type .sqdinvite me into your chat bar (I think that's the command), this gets you around the need to have a second player to form a squad.  From there, go to the O'Club on a base, and you can rename your squad there, invite, kick, give admin rights etc. to the squad.

You can also go to the "Officers Club" on the notepad in game and the selection for making a squad is accessible there.

Right on Mingus!

What country are you flying for right now? Bishops, Knights, or Rooks?

The 56th fighter group is currently flying rooks in the main arena, my in-game name is KB, i'll join you for a couple sorties if you're online, just jump on country channel and request a wingman! :)

Hope you can drag a few more into game with you!

Bring 'em on! It's a great combination of flight sim and game. I came here to fly from a flight sim background and I find the modeling to be as good as any sim I have flown, and better than most. To be able to shoot folks down (or more likely get shot down, in my case  :bhead ) too, is icing on the cake.

Welcome aboard!  :salute

Welcome to AH, Mingus!  I played WW2OL for a while and mostly enjoyed the tanks there.  I've been playing Aces High since the beginning and it is definitely better for the air combat side of things.  Not a fighter pilot myself, I prefer the heavy bombers generally, but also enjoy the various Ground Vehicles and Field Guns.

We also have various special events in dedicated Special Event Arenas and I particularly enjoy the historical scenarios that are held every few months.  You can find more about special events at AHEvents.  I mostly fly the scenarios now, but do occasionally spend time in the main arena.

The Range channel can also be used to communicate with other pilots who took off from the same field you did, regardless of their position in the arena, so can be quite useful!

I think all of your questions have been answered, but feel free to ask any more you may have.  :)
