Sadly you get people that do this stuff.

I remember way back in 2001 right after 9/11 that a lot of players wanted to do a memorial flight in the MA which I launched and became apart of. About 30 people got into formation from all 3 chess pieces and then came the vultures which started picking off people in the formation. When I asked why they would do this the response I got was "we're free kills". IIRC this was before the perk point system so they got nothing for it besides their name in lights.

Granted I know it's a game and a lot of people live by the belief that "if it's red it's dead" philosophy, but I sometimes think people take it too far and don't really respect other players when they're trying to get some enjoyment of a limited time event. (And don't take as 9/11 is an "enjoyment", I meant Santa.) I sometimes feel like I'm the only person that thinks about the other player, and I've made choices at times in which I've disengaged or not attacked at all, like when an enemy already has 2 friendly's on him or a set of buffs going home or landing. Granted this is the way I fly and other people can fly however they want as it's their money, I just wish for a more thoughtful community at times.

there was a player that called me a name for shooting him down at a field, because he was there to see santa- I am sorry-but how was I supposed to know-I did feel bad, people were hollering there was a cease fire--but I never saw a declaration of a cease fire.
all of us regulars know when santa arrives in the arena. Hitech confined his travels to a 3 base triangle.
this year we need to declare a  automatic cease fire when the night suddenly turns dark, and over when he leaves, I don't know what kind of deterrent can be used to keep hardheads from continuing fro shooting peeps down while santa is in area. I do think people should get a fair chance to see santa-for people who have never see him-and their kids.

I was there also and I am sure there was some of that. I did fly escort to Santa for quite a while. I ended up colliding though, not getting shot down. So we were flying close enough to collide without getting shot. There was a lot of chatter on 200 about not shooting around Santa. If people do not turn 200, they did not see it.  Then again some people are just a holes   :D

If it's actually HT doing a circuit, have him make a "naughty" list and post it to the BBS. SHAME!

Then have Santa dole out "discretionary" Perk points to those wronged by others in Santa's presence...  :devil  Escorting Santa and got shot down, 2016 perks for you....

A few people always seem to spoil the Santa experience by shooting down players who try to do fly-bys. Is it possible to have a sort of safe zone--like, guns don't work within 6.0k of Santa--so that the people who think it's a cool thing to fly with the sleigh, show him to their kids, etc don't get picked by losers?
Just a thought for next year.

Just punting this one to the top: it seems timely. (Yeah, I know, rule 6 violation or something. But in a good cause).

 :rofl :aok

Equipping Santa's sleigh with miniaure novelty Christmas tree-shaped naughty people homing missiles is obviously the answer.  :old:

Simple fix!! When Sandra hits the skies, just ground all planes and only set the rv8!! No weapons!!! I am of course joking about this. There would still be people trying for a collision kill!!
