Custom Arena For New Pilots

Iracing has a rookie scoring system that seems to work.  The cars are limited with the idea safe driving is important to get to the big boy cars.

Staying with Mongoose's OP, you could have the first arena where you learn and accomplish certain task before you advance to the next arena.  Something like taking off, flying for 5 minutes then landing a tail dragger without auto takeoff.  Then take off and land a heavy fighter and bomber.  Then cv takeoff then landing.  The next arena would be more complex maybe using some of the AI mission stuff.

All of this would be free.  After completion you go to the main arena for two week trail or maybe a certain number of single life planes

Here is mongoose your arena, 5000ft volcano, 5 mile diameter caldera with a 1000ft high hill in the center. Small airfield north and south with a map room on the field. At a minimum I had to add three small islands with HQ for each country and an airfield for the third country. Test this off line and if it's what you want, I'll upload it to the custom terrain HOST and give you another link to download the whole project set of files.

Unzip and copy the files into the ah3terr folder of the game. Choose it as an offline terrain. Be warned what you imagined may not be what you think you are getting for a flight area with that 5 mile diameter space.

    OK, I tried it out.  Bustr, I want to thank you for the work you put into that.  And you are right, it is not quite what I imagined.  But it is a very good start.  It only needs a couple of adjustments. 

  Now I really have incentive to learn the terrain editor.

There was a reason I said it would probably be something like the furball island I placed in the center of Oceania my last terrain, doesn't matter of the elevation is 500ft and 10-13 miles or 5000ft 10-13 miles. It was obvious 5miles was not going to work. Even if it's only two airfields, you will still have to make an island and place a third one on it along with an HQ and tiny islands of the HQ of the two other countries.

That is why I told you just use gunnery and turn off killlshooter and turn off protect all objects and your newbies will have everything in the game at their finger tips to blow each other to pieces. And you have a 7k air start to get them into the air and following you around like ducklings. Then you can tell them how to download gunnery so they can keep practicing offline to sharpen their gunnery skills for the game.

The TA dosen't really have what I setup inside of gunnery. I tell players who want to learn basic ACM to go to the TA, learning how to use all of the guns, bombs, rockets, etc.... Gunnery is setup better and, they can practice offline alone over and over and over.
