I have often said, put up or shut up. Since I do not know how to shut up, I do put up.

I have been putting together my own VR HMD for cockpit gaming, plane/car. I now have the hardware almost completed. Waiting on a TrackIMU. From here its about software..................... ......

Hey HiTech you bored?

Its a pair of 806 ppi displays, I want to clone them, then use side by side software and then place the panels so I get reverse eye format. I will be looking at OSVR and such but what would be the minimum requirements to get the game to play on it.?

I know you are busy but any insights or pointers, links, whatever would be helpful. I put the game on the hmd's panels and looked thru lens, wow! Whereas the SDE is still present, its cut drastically. I can use reshade with it to tweak colors and well......... did I say wow! The displays are stunning, I have resolution options so I can scale the cockpit to my fov a smidge. It would be a whole new game with this.
Did setting up for RIFT get you much more business......whats more what I did anyone could do, I have spent, to date, no more than the rift, I think, as well. dropped $500w/o hand toys.............

anyways

Aces High 3 uses the openvr api. So it should Support any VR HMD that supported under steamVR. Reshade was not able to grab a Depth Buffer in the game. I did Test TriDef. TriDef has a dual Dual Monitors. Option I don't know if there should be a resoution limit. There should not be.

I been poking and prodding the net awhile. I had asked about a 3D super depth which is a reshade plugin. SweetFX=reshade

Since my focus is primarily for ACEs High and like games, I asked a question and got some above info. So is it possible that reshades side by side converter can be allowed the info to map Ace High in 3D, outside of the RIFT setup? I want to use reshade anyways for graphic enhancements so this would help me a great deal, 1 piece of software to do it all.

So today I got SuperDepth3D plugged into reshade.
I have had reshade working with AH DX11 awhile but the preset was useless with the rift.

I can now put the game in side by side mode. It works on and off line. I am a little surprised because, BlueSkyDefender the author, had tried for me months ago, no go. Anyways tomorrow I will have a head tracking unit and can begin adjustments, I hope. I'm really out of my depth, here. yuk yuk........

If all this holds true, I will be able to use the entire suite of reshade shaders to tweak the game specifically for my eyes and hardware, I might be flying with a permanent woody from now on. Anyone who has used SweetFx knows what I mean. Undoubtedly the best graphic utility freeware out there.

So latest.
TriDef 3D will convert AH to 3D sxs.
Reshade will work with AH using TriDef.
I got the TrackIMU for headtracking, it sux so far. I went this route for PnP ease, less parts, no cam, figure good for a sit game......
It seems to work by itself OK, but add in opentrack and tridef and it..........................

So the interesting thing here is I can play the game without OSVR or any specifically designed firmware. Which for moi is a plus.
The bad thing is trying to get the game set up on an extended desktop, secondary display. Hell it might be that I never turn the game off, when not flying, sit the OC. And of course the headtracking, this has to happen just to set up things. Focused on to small an area of displays.

Either way, this little project has gone farther than I expected, and it just might........ work for AH nicely, which if it pans out makes me one serendipitous lucky beach. This unit is more sculpted, than it is machined.
