Not a fan of dusk, dawn or night. Seems one or all of the above happens too much and ya just can't see squat. If it went away forever I wouldn't miss it a bit.

That said the sunrise and sunset, especially with some clouds floating around, are quite pretty.

Dusk and Dawn are Gamma 2.0 time.  Improves visibility but contrast still sucks.

Not a fan of it either, actively dislike night.

But ya gotta love peeps who say just turn up your gamma! What they're really saying is that they think it sucks too!

:D  I would go with "It is not my favorite feature."  But, it appears to be here to stay.  Except darkness.  Darkness flat out sucks. ;)

I have always had a problem with "dusk" light.  I thought it was only IRL and assumed it was something to do with how my eyes work, but having seen it a few times on games, I theorize I have trouble with the color palette at dawn/dusk, possibly due to my color blindness.

Let's say it this way:
An hour ago I logged in for my evening fix, saw dusk coming up, logged out.  ;)

While I appreciate what HTC did with the night sky wth the true placement of stars and all, I think it was a poor business decision. All that time spent doing the "night sky" up and it has always been despised. Any "night" just causes the population to log out or "cheat" by bumping up the gamma, and they have known this for years. Why waste all that time?

Also the main arena is set for real dates, I.E. we are currently short days do to it being winter in the northern hemisphere. So in some since you wish is granted, each day will be longer for the next 5 1/2 months.

HiTech

I appreciate your logic for the day night timing but it sure hurts game play.  A common complaint on vox.  This is especaily true for VR users since many of the non VR users just up the gamma to compensate.  Since it is a game, since some game change the dark anyway, I join Yucca on this wish.

Spending so much of the time in the dark sucks.

I personally love having a 262 up around Dusk/Dawn keep it low and fast and ambush prey like a bass in the reeds.  That being said, the auger factor remains high over water.  It's hard to fly by instruments and try and dogfight, but I personally enjoy it.   :old:

It does suck.  I turn up gamma because I can't see anything but then it looks really bad.  My choices are awful visibility at dawn/dusk, awful graphics at dawn/dusk with gamma cranked up or log off.  More than 50% of the time, I will log off.

For me, the dawn/dusk/night is a significant downgrade from AH2.  The melee arena isn't about realism, why the need for "realistic" lighting that makes it harder and less enjoyable to fight in?  Leave the low light to the FSO crowd.

Please don't?  It's fine for takeoff ambiance, but when the two sides collide, it's sure swell to be able to see.

Yes. There were some events run about a year ago that saw action met in very dark skies. It was awful.

I often see you when I log in and I also feel that it is usually game evening when I log in.

HT, please make total game days length an irrational fraction of 24 hours. Also, randomize the game day time at the start of a new map in case maps get reset at typical real day times.

Yeah, if it is here to stay it would be good to have it shift around.    I agree with those who are frustrated by it.   Nice eye candy but it makes fighting a PITA.  I need to practice shooting based on icon labels I guess.   :salute

In the TE there is a section where a terrain designer can set latitude, longitude, time, date and time zone. I guess this is more for special event terrains but is it worth setting this up for an MA terrain or do you just use Dallas local settings for longitude and latitude as well? The reason I ask is I was thinking of using a more southerly latitude for a terrain using the Med/Africa terrain set.
