Yeah this is a concern for me. My country has very strict rules about gambling. Am i still able to partake? Or am i excluded from partaking in the tournament even if do not accept money? I would understand this but still be sad about it.

DutchVII

There will be many different types of Tournaments.
One will be simply free with prizes supplied by HTC. These all will be able to partake in.

Also this is not directly gambling but comes under the header of skill based games. Do a search to see if you country or state allows it.

just before this gets serious can we make sure all the air starts are 100% the same distance apart and the same altitude.   I just took a trip down threads past and had a few giggles.    :devil

Anyone with a ping over 200 unable to play!   :bolt:

IP addresses logged so there are no instances of people playing on other peoples accounts!

Shouldnt need a book of rules or lawyers as the matchplay process is automated.  Are collisions on?    :headscratch:

Chat disabled on spawn in!    Purse Fights left at the door!

How is the playing arena determined to be fair and equal to all players.  Wont some players start out behind the eight ball due to machine lag, network lag, internet lag?  Who verifies that the code is not loaded ?  I know a great deal of time and effort is spent by the gaming industry here in Jersey for the skill based games offered by the casinos.   Is HTC willing to release their code for independent review?  That's what the casinos have to do.

For now my understanding of the matchplay arena is that the 2 players ready to fight get launched simultaneously by the server so there shouldn't be much of a time difference in spawning.   If the distances and heights of airspawn are the same across matches there is no argument there either.   Same plane will have to be enforced and that just leaves collisions.  In KOTH I have them off so that a fight doesn't get ruined by one players lag over the others.   At least the fight would have the chance to pan out and ultimately the better player (skillwise) would win.

As for HO's clearly anything goes after spawn in, as there is no need for a referee or host.   Simply the server records who shot down who.

You still have internet lag, and different ISP's providing different priority to signal transmission, Stacking and error checks and re-transmission and again in Jersey Games of skill that involve money are regulated by the state gaming commission and code needs to be checked by an independent third party chosen by the state.  Even if that's not an issue I don't see how you get the different ISP's that handle  switching to provide the two players the exact same priority, it just can happen, not possible, that's just a fact of how computers work.  Jan 7th showed everyone on the net how the internet could be brought to it's knees just by weather.

New Jersey's regulation on skill based gaming is aimed towards online casinos that offer such skill based games such as poker and blackjack and do not cover or regulate online games such as Aces High or other skill based online games such as multiplayer first person shooters.

This turns me off if there won't be a guns cold until first merge / nose of at least one plane crossing the 3-9 line, ...... I don't have any desire to JOUST!

I definitely do not consider jousting / HO'ing on first pass "Skill Based Gaming"

Yeah, when I feel I’m being cornered I’ll pull the trigger at any chance I can. Sorry if you felt it was cheap. when I’m in competitions like ToC, I’m not afraid to do anything it takes to win.

Same plane will have to be enforced

Why?

Why?
When dealing with money payouts people will complain one aircraft had an advantage over theirs. Flying the same plane eliminates the factor of “mechanical advantage”.

Couldn't there be an option to join one room with the same planes and another for different planes?
Or put them all in one room, but on an alternating time schedule.
