20:10 Eastern, 2/10/18 both Fess and I were muted for 10 minutes, after telling a mod we were calm. No 2nd warning, just SLAM!
20:30 I agreed with a comment Fess makes, and get instantly muted for 120 Minutes?, and the popup doesn't even say who did the muting or the reason for it?!

Seriously HTC, how long are you going to let this abuse go on? How about muting text, but leaving vox alone? Not like your word cops are muting any of the vulgarity on VOX anyway. now is it? Or can you not figure how to exclude VOX from the muting?

lol I think for me the insult was telling me to calm down. I responded that I was calm and I get muted. I was not aware that being calm was an offence.

If you are a mod, then moderate on what you see and not what you perceive. You made an assumption about my emotional state and you were wrong, I simply put the record straight.

unfortunately ANY interaction with a MOD will result in a mute Just the way it is

Sadly, something in type will translate 10 different ways to 10 different people, and in this day and age it is much easier to assume the worst and mute, ban, or boot a person than it is to stop, use a bit of clairity and common sense, and judge from there.

To take Fugi's comment one step further...... It may be the way it is, but it does not make it right..... It's just the way it goes.

It's the same on most any forum, or game

I witnessed the discussion and nothing was any where near getting a "calm down" warning on anyones part muchless muting some one for telling a mod that he was calm. there was way worse stuff on there earlier as eluding to peoples wife being at someones house and other things.
maybe the mods are stuck on finger pointing at certain folks with in certain discusions with all the other stuff that goes over 200.

That's the thing. If they told the Mod anything, it will get them more time-out. (no communicato) <<--don't think that's a word....

I love this game, really I do, or I wouldn't have been with since 99. But you guys in admin need to wake the heck up about how poorly your moderators act, and fix your COAD to either leave VOX out of muting, or monitor it like 200, because there is far more egregious BS going on in VOX, than text! Yet you mute a person for 120 minutes, supposed second offense, and absolutely no reason given! Just slam.

I tried that a couple times before, and got absolutely zero reply, from him. Zip, nada, zilch.

Now you tell me here, for everyone to read, how it is fair and equitable to mute some from 10 minutes to 120 minutes just for telling the mod that 1. we were calm. and then 2. just agreeing with another player on 200?

That's pretty harsh punishment adding 120 times the original offense, and it blocks VOX too, for just responding to another player.

So Skuzzy, you can tell HT this, or print it out and hand it to him next time you two have doughnuts together.

To close this thread out. Here is what transpired.

Odee and Fess were arguing with another player over open radio channel (200).
A moderator sent a warning to both asking them to calm down. Although the wording is not standard working, which is something I will address with the moderator.

"fess Enough. Please calm down, thank you."
and
"odee Enough. Please calm down, thank you."

At this point the players had recourse to address this with us and that would have been it. Instead here is what followed.

"Odee :200 :Hey yo Word Cops at HTC I'm calm as a cucmber Just stating facts"
and
"Fess :200 @mod warning me I do not need to calm down, nothing I have said is agressive"

At this point the moderator had to mute them both (standard 10 minute mute) as any attempt to confront the moderators always results in a mute as the moderators cannot verbally engage anyone.

After the 10 minute mute was done, the following was stated.

"Odee :200 :Fess I got same mute for telling mods I was calm insta 10 minutes"
"Odee :200 :what a bunch of babies"

At this point the moderator issued a 120 minute mute, but then unmuted Odee after 6 minutes. I need to discuss this with the moderator as well.

I also noted after Odee came back he private messaged 5 other players and squad channel (4) complaining how he had been muted. I found it interesting as it does show he can make use of PM's in the game.

Now, we prefer to handle these issues without dragging the community into it, but if you chose to bring these things to the bulletin board we will engage.

As to the accusation I have not responded to moderator complaints via email. How far back was that? I looked at my emails for the last 3 years where there were complaints about moderators and could not find any from you.

I always respond to emails, where any type of response is required (even just to say "thank you"). If you do not get them, check spam folders and the list of ISP's who reject ALL email from us. Every complaint I have about a moderator has been responded to.
