    According to some after you shoot a set of bombers to pieces and force Them to the ground 2 or 3 miles from Their base. You don't get any kill credit.

You don’t get a kill if the enemy ditches in their own territory.

When the base closest to the point where you are 'landing' is a firendly one (this includes task groups!)  , the territory is friendly and you get a ditch. Else it's a "you have been captured", with possibly granting a kill credit to an enemy, if applicable.

LOL.....I once got burned by hidden task force proximity when I ditched.

   I have ditched in my own territory and the guy who shot Me up got the credit.  sometimes less than a mile from base.
