some great ideas here, but i think i see some problems with some of them....if you want newbies to be trained...you cant have one on one training...why?  just think of it, you advertise and you have 10 guys training people, but 100 show up , 90 guys get the mesage...NO TRAINERS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME..flash on thier screen... you think they are gonna take a number and wait, or make an appointment???  nope... thier gone,  training...as i have said before,  needs to be an auto program,  were you here a voice...like a trainer tell you something, then a box highlight what to do... example, the guy has a p-51b on the runway.... voice says, the enemy is attacking...then the voice says, lets go hunting!!  and then the map comes up tells him where to look and go for action, then... throttle up!! and shows him how to throttle up etc...pre flight would be ..SET YOUR VIEWS...and how to do it.. etc.  so the guys has a decent plane to play for free...not early planes in the main arena...and it shows him to get up,get to the action and into a fight, with some coaching....fun, from day ONE... that should be our goal.... fun from day one, leads to fun on day two,three...etc....plane set for free may be  p-51b, p-47 d-40, p-38j, bf-109 g-6, fw-190 a-5, spit 8 or 9, la-5,ki-61,a6m5(throw em one late one, but not a german, american or british) and c205....something like that, same way for tanks, etc....so  i am regestering this prase...you heard it here... our goal is   FUN FROM DAY ONE...player for life.  thank you, ill be here all week.,lol

No offense but you did not comprehend my post regarding:

#1 : Scheduled Informal Training Sessions  ( like scheduled with set times for players to show up and be trained , this can happen however often HTC might want it, 2 times a week, 3 times a week, daily, etc...)

#2: 1 on 1 Personal Training ( this would be done on an as requested basis between a player and a Trainer )

#3: Training Lectures ( I did not include this in my post before, but it is another viable option and it has been done  since the AW 1995 Winter Lecture series, the AW 2000 Spring Lecture Series and in Aces high by several different Trainers on different topics, that had players show up 20 to 40 or more

#4: Training Academy ( I gave a simplified example already )

Now, i'll let you in on a little secret.... I've trained and worked with other Trainers where we could have anywhere from 3 or 4 all the way up to 50+ show up for informal Training and each trainer would pick a subject, the people wanting training would be asked what did they want to work on, the door Manager would send student wanting Spin recovery to so&so Trainer, Students wanting to work on P38 skills were sent to so&so trainer, students wanting to learn B&Z fighting were sent to so&so trainer...ad infinium..... each trainer could easily handle Informal Training of 20+ students and skillfully training them, giving them lessons over a scheduled 2 Hour period a night

I know how it works, and their are alot of other old long time players here that know how it can work and has worked in the past....

As for the Training Academy, well that also has already been proven to work as well

"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

All of this is easily setup with custom arenas. The issue is holding the hands of new players WHEN they come in.

Hitech said that most players leave and are never seen again after the first 20 minutes or so.

This is why I suggested a scheduled event designed to get new players in the game.  This would be similar to something TequilaChaser talks about in another post. People try the game, and then they leave because they are intimidated by the learning curve, and they don't realize what they have.  Have a scheduled event where you can get a bunch of new players in the game with some coaching to get them over the learning curve.

Some of us have suggested, and are working on, a "new player guide" that is very specific to new players. This and the "new player event" could get new pilots to stick with the game.
