Hitech was Right!

  Hitech was Right!

I have never upgraded beyond Windows 7 as Hitech informed us about Microsofts backdoor to the data on future Windows products.

Microsoft is banning speech it does not like and will view your content without your permission. (or you give permission when you click accept)

"Microsoft has advised users of upcoming changes to its services' terms-of-use agreement that will make it a potentially account-closing offence to use offensive language on Skype or in a Word document.

The tweaked agreement, which comes into effect on May 1, 2018, includes the following new code-of-conduct item:

Don’t publicly display or use the Services to share inappropriate content or material (involving, for example, nudity, bestiality, pornography, offensive language, graphic violence, or criminal activity)."

"If you violate these Terms, we may stop providing Services to you or we may close your Microsoft account. We may also block delivery of a communication (like email, file sharing or instant message) to or from the Services in an effort to enforce these Terms or we may remove or refuse to publish Your Content for any reason. When investigating alleged violations of these Terms, Microsoft reserves the right to review Your Content in order to resolve the issue. "
I always wanted to fight an impossible battle against incredible odds.

These terms are for use of Microsoft's online services - they aren't looking at what you store on your own computer using Microsoft Word, for instance.

It appears that this is in response to the passage of the "Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act," which would make hosts of data services (such as Microsoft) liable for content shared through their platform (e.g. Skype).

Craigslist, for instance, has deleted their "Personals" ad section in response to the legislation, to avoid being held liable for the pretty wide definition of "sex trafficking."
