My Math Has Problems
« on: April 03, 2018, 09:00:47 PM »
In ratios as in mixing 2 cycle fuel a 100 to 1 ration is 100 parts gasoline and 1 part oil... It's 100 to 1 because I like AMS/OIL.  It will run 200 to 1.   Anyway.....    In AH3  100 kills and no deaths is 100 to 1, not 100 to 0...... and 100 kills and 1 death is 50 to 1.  Why?

Commonly done in sampling to find rates of (whatever), specifically so that they don't have a zero in their equation.

It keeps the programming math easy I think....you cannot divide by 0, so you start by adding 1 so you don't have a division by 0 possibility.    Oooops I'm to slow.

Just think of it as kills/lives.
