Loss of Control W in Bombsight

When multiple players are in bomber formations.  The players are using the .wingman command and Control W to keep tight formation flying.  As soon as you go into the bombsight, the Autopilot switches from AP:Wingman to AP:Level. 

Is this a Bug or no code written to maintain Control W?
