Just getting into VR, need recomendations
« on: July 22, 2018, 01:41:18 PM »
Since I have no knowledge or experience with VR what-so-ever, what would you kind folks recommend regarding hardware? I need something easy to use, durable, but will provide an outstanding experience. It's not going to be for my personal use and a lot of folks may be trying it out each day.
I think I have the PC ironed out that I'll be using but there may be a question regarding the video card. Currently I have a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB.
Thanks!

I ran an GTX 1060, and it worked really well. You will maybe want to set up your Nvidia card settings(NVIDIA Control Panel) like in this post,as this is EXACTLY how my 1060 played under. The GTX 1070 played identical, the GTX 1080 may run with more of the "Eye Candy", but the resolution of the Vr sort of negates the need for candy anyway.   http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,389367.0.html                   I know the 1060 vs 1070 worked like this because I had both Pcs at same time. Messed something up in PC with 1060 and didnt want to wait till it got fixed,so bought new Pc with 1070.  :uhoh Got back the repaired version and WELL..... :bhead EH, I gave it to another playerbut It could have saved some money BUT HECK NO...I was to big a hurry to get VR up and running  :devil
