Desert scheme Martlet
« on: April 20, 2018, 02:07:07 PM »
Thanks to Lyric1 for helping with the info for this skin.

In 1941 the British came into possession of 30 F4F-3A aircraft that had been ordered by the Greek Air Force but had not been delivered before Greece fell to the Germans. As these aircraft lacked the folding wings and arrestor gear needed for carrier operations they were pressed into service as land based Martlet Mk IIIs. British radios were fitted, British markings painted on, the upper surfaces were painted in dark earth and mid stone while the lower surfaces were left in their as-delivered non-specular light grey. They served with the Navy's 805 squadron which was itself attached to several different RAF wings during 1941 and 1942.

That has to be the most realistic dirt/grime I've seen.  Just top-hole all the way 'round!

Great work! <S>
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!
