CTD on Mic activation
« on: May 06, 2018, 04:11:07 PM »
Trying to transmit vox will cause ctd. Any of F12, T, or mapped DX buttons will cause the crash.
NDISLES terrain in Melee Arena (and Saturday night's terrain also).

Recent changes were nvidia update, Windows 10 update, and AH update.
Did clean update install of nvidia without audio drivers.
Windows 10 v1803.

I do not know if it is the problem, but even if you choose not to install the audio drivers Nvidia will still activate the audio channels on their cards. You can disable them from Device Manager.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Check this thread: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,392852.0.html

There are going to be cases where the Windows 10 update is going to cause this due to Microsoft adding a new USBADUIO capture driver, and you are using an USB headset/microphone while using the manufacturer's USBAUDIO driver.

It seems those drivers are conflicting.

A rolling back to the previous version of Windows 10 will probably cure the problem.

I ran into this because in Windows 10 I had permission turned off for apps to access microphone.

You need permission turned on for microphone access for apps.

You can get to this in settings for privacy (I think).

That was it.

I thank you. Those on range and squad channels may curse your name however.  :D

I just checked this. I have the mic privacy off (apps can access), but I have all of the apps on the list turned off. Aces High is not on the list.

Yep, regardless of other settings, I think all you need is mic privacy off.
