As a tax payer that just pisses me off. They should garnish his future wages until the expense (including lost opportunity during the exercise) is fully repaid with interest.
And he won’t be receiving any Veterans benefits either.
Don’t worry, the only way your few pennies will go to help this dude is if he goes on government assistance... .
