Different color enemy dar bars
« on: May 28, 2018, 02:01:59 PM »
Many times when I log in, I look at the fights going on around the map, and look at the roster to see the #s. Sometimes there isn't a fight or much fighter activity on my side at the time, and I'd like to change to the team that needs the most help. Even if I'm on the low #s side already. If I change, this is a big decision knowing I won't be able to change for the rest of my time playing that day. Well, sometimes it's difficult which team to switch to. If I switch to the side that is winning the furballs despite the roster #s, I'll be SOL running with the gang. Sometimes having only one dar bar is confusing to see which side needs the most help. If both teams on the other side had a different color Dar, it would make it much easier to know what's going on on the other side of the map, especially for new players. I think this also leads to both sides ganging one side, as they only see one dar bar on the other side rather than 2 that make up both sides. I'm sure they would still double team though, lol. As an experienced player, generally I can decide by looking at flashing bases. But that's about it. Sometimes I switch and the dar per both teams is way smaller than I thought. Seeing one big dar on the other side of the map can be missleading, if you know what I mean. In short. It would be great to know the dar balance between the 2 sides on the other side of the map. Any thoughts?

That puts an end to seeing two country fighting it out to take a field and sneaking in a C47 from the 3rd country.

I do the same thing and it is hard to choose which side to help.

Perhaps instead of red/green darbars, the darbar colors would match up with whatever colors you have assigned to each country.

I see how it would work how you guys want it to.  I can also see how it would work for guys trying to take the path of least resistance, and join the mob.

I usually log on for an hour or two at a time looking for some air to air combat. This would make it easy to determine which side needs help and get into the action quickly. It's always possible for a game change along these lines to be used as a short cut to easy gratification. Hopefully the players looking to help the underdog would tend to balance out the ones looking for a dog pile.

This idea would be gamed into the ground.
Might as well make the enemy dot-dar different colors too.

For analyzing local combat in the sector of a large darbar, maybe have the GVDAR show everywhere at all times without needing to be within 10miles. Most often a large darbar without GV combat is a furball or bombers heading somewhere. Bombers heading somewhere, you either luck into seeing them, a player mentions it on country or, your squad has enough players on to send out active scouts. And not to forget the very slow cohesive movement of a big darbar across the sectors. But slow is suspect is not acceptable to wanting to find activity quickly. GVDAR and a large darbar means a concentration of activity most of the time.

But, if it is all red, knowing who is in need of help will be very tough.

We have the new function on entry to the arena that places you in the tower at the location your country has the most concentrated activity. Wonder if a function is possible to tell you during your GUI selection window for a country change, an indication of which country is getting it's pants clobbered. That's a slippery slope since it may end up helping more players find the safest place to jump to while looking for easy activity.
