I mis-read the write up (or missed all together) the following:

Dunno how I missed but I did.

Yes more 3 squad was given the option to up 262s according to the orders I sent out. They reported they would fly 262s and I approved.

JV44 out of 7 pilots 3 were 262s

332nd Flying Mongrels
332nd Viking

were both given the option of flying d9s or 262's and I believe they elected to and did fly 262s.

The resposibility for the error relies with me.

I apologize to all this affected for my missuse of perked aircraft. The mistake was mine alone and would only ask that consideration be taken into account that the Mongrels and Vikings only followed the orders I sent them.

am I too understand that the following was added this morning:

I only ask this because when I was making out orders I never saw it and did in fact read the write-up as well as the rules and never saw it. In another post I saw mention of a thread which may have included the above statement but unfortunately I don't recall it.

Wotan,

No problem I never saw the restriction either concerning perk planes. And running into so many me262s was experience I will always remember. With this experience it really makes me stand in awe of those guys back in WWII who were able to shoot them them down while flying a prop plane (like John Glenn).

It also makes me say "thank god" the Germans were never able to put them up in numbers because if they did they would shredded the allied air forces and taken control of the skies back until the British ramped up production of the meteor.

All in all it was a good experience and how often are we ever going to see that many me262s up and get the chance to tangle with them. It was memorable and something I will always remember and talk about how the Nightmares got jumped by 4 jets and how we did and what we tried against them.

Fyi there were never more the 14 262s outa over 50 or so axis.

Had that restriction been posted in the rules I certainly would not have given it as and option to more then 1 squad.

I do not recall seeing a post stating perks would be limited to 1 squad.

My own squad had 3 outa 7 and my thot going in was that each squad given the option were basically cap more then likely against jabos. so they would chose a mix to deal with buffs as well as jabos.

Anyway I had fun for the short time I was in the air.

Well I have to admit the 332nd flying mongrels had a good time last night.

We had 3 262's on detached duty. After circeling for an hour I got permision for my wingman Teeerex & I to sweep to 23. Halfway there we start hearing reports of 10 b17's & escorts. Turned for 22, dove down to 10k, found pony's mixing it up with our guys.
Made 3 passes, caught a pony on the 2nd pass and shredded him.

Then saw a pair of b26's so we took them out. Unfortunately they took us out also.

Rest of the squad did their best against a VERY well flown buff box. Hitting them in 2 waves, diving through, takeing shots, giveing & recieving damage. <S> to Mag 33, that was some of the best formation flying in the face of the enemy I've ever seen.

Out of 10 B17's 5 did return to base. From 8 262's rolled only 2 landed safely, wtg banana & Crash.

John Glenn shot down a 262??  I thought he was a Marine stationed in the PTO.  You thinking of Yeager I think.

Your right it was Chuck Yeager .. not sure why I was thinking of John Glenn but for some reason switched the two in my mind.

Thks ghost!  Unescorted Buffs in the face of an enemy without cap calls for strict "Box" formation, thks to Swoop to keeping us hugging each other.  9 launched I believe, and 5 rtb'd.
