H/T to Bingo1 for pointing me to this skin.
This is P-51B "PENNY" flown by ace Lt. Lester L. Arasmith of the 311th FG, 350th FS in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations. Lt. Arasmith was one of the youngest-ever American aces at age 20 and would score six total victories.
This skin was originally created as "Princess" by BH3841. Research suggests that his scheme was of a 530th FS Mustang that had been reassigned to the 528th but had not yet been painted in 528th markings. I have thus skinned it as an airplane that we know for certain was a 530th aircraft. I retained BH3841's tail stripes (cleaned up) and some of the yellow paint used on the tail and spinner as a salute to the original artist.
The bottom photo is with the flared up spec map instead of the plain gray. Is this a good look? I think it is too "hot" on the reflections of the sunlight.
