Seems like with the AH environment, blue through violet is a friend to aluminum. I really thought you had slaved over tests and found a premeditated solution for aluminum rudders. 
That rudder is actually about my 25th variation. I didn't think it was a breakthrough, but it sounds like it did the job based on your feedback. This is good to know. I'll adapt this one to my other skins going forward.
