I have seen this posted by about 3 folks now. It is a distinct possibility that he was a member at one time.

So I'm the crazy guy here, but a guy named Rich who played AH one time 6 years ago May be the GUY!!!

Just wait to you learn the real reason why there are so many dead people in Chicago.

remember trying to hang on to the merry go round? someone would spin it faster and faster until everyone fell off?  I think a box of bullets was flung off the merry go round and all these people got shot.  :noid  there is a reason merry go rounds are shaped like ufoS! The same shape as sound! think about it.

My oldest had flown Airwarrior. Many moons ago I sent him up in a Cessna with an instructor for his 11th birthday and  the instructor was surprised had how well he handled that Cessna 152.  Now it wasn't a plane like the one this guy stole, but there wasn't much question that having flown 'flight sims', helped my son in having some idea of what he was getting into.

"The shape of sound" sounds like a good album title.

Didn't someone here surprise an instructor in an expensive "combat challenge" using real planes.

Whoever he was, memorial flight for 'Beebo'?

Whether or not this guy flew with us or not, the balls on that guy at least warrants a memorial flight.

Thoughts?

I'm sorry the guy had mental problems, but --

He stole a $20+ million aircraft, destroyed it, and committed suicide.  His supervisor, that guy's supervisor, etc., will suffer consequences for the guy's actions.  If the land the guy crashed on belongs to someone other than the government, the owner will suffer some damages.  And while he was doing all of this, he was putting other people at risk of death (e.g., had he gone out onto the runway with a plane landing or taking off that couldn't abort, or had he crashed into a section of land that happened to have some people on it).

this is one of the best tributes I've seen to the guy.  I empathize with him a lot and am astonished at what he did, and how he did it, but mostly I just feel sad that the guy felt that he needed to kill himself.

This, not to mention the load of new and absurd rules/regulations that are going to be put in place to make sure this one in a billion event never happens again.

A very sad situation but, this guy didn’t have the courage to seek help.  Instead he stole something that wasn’t his and put an untold number of people at risk.  Then, there are the dozens of airline flights and thousands of passengers who were ground stopped or diverted to remain clear and safe from this act of cowardice.

Memorial flight?!  Not only no but, NO!  He flew his own memorial flight.
