Okay since the testing seems to be over and we have the "old way"back. I am not quite satisfied.. The poll showed 3 options which i think all of them are not great. I believe the goal is to increase activity but keep the current strategic levels in the game. This idea might be a good solution to keep everyone happy and achieve the goals we set out with the "test". (I am not sure if some one made the suggestion before and i just copy him...)
So this is what i suggest:
- Old style dar mode
- Add mini radar on friendly planes and tanks with a 6K radius. whatever plane is in that radius shows up on the map.
- Add a 3K radius for planes that fly lower than 2-3k to spot Tanks on the ground.
- Add a 2K radius for Tank to Tank. If a enemy Tanks shoot increase range to 6K for 10 seconds. IF a Tank gets directly spotted by the gunner sight (inside the tank) just show him on the map.
- For spotter planes add a 6K radius on tanks if they fly 1K. 4K radius if flying 2K. 2K radius if flying 3K (since things will be smaller if your high, might wanna do this the other way around dunno)
This wont give away missions and CV's. The full dar is to much and ruins tactical play. However with the settings above a new player will see where the fur ball is and also increases activity for the current player base. I really would like to see this in a test since we are gonna make adjustments anyway. I think this would be best of both worlds.
