I have decided to end my AH experience.
Just not logging in anymore.
I spent a couple grand on a new machine and the rift. The rift was so disappointing due to piss poor visual clarity that I hung it up. I luv how the game plays with rift actions but the lack of clarity is just to dangerous to the eyes. My eyes would be buzzing trying to constantly focus on distant objects.

I'd like to thank the community for all the advice, help, and conversation I have had. For the fun game play I had. I just need to stop paying for something I just do not log into.

Salute to HiTech, Skuzzy and all the rest of the staff and volunteers who did so much to keep the game viable. Really great work!
Maybe in future I will try again.
I will be retiring soon and my immediate plans call for saving money for those things I am doing.

 :salute

ps: know that I am not going to another game, FA and then AH were the games for me! I played no other games! It was always about fighter aircraft for moi, prolly cuz I was an air force brat.........................

nada wrong with the setup.

The Rift is just a piss poor attempt at VR. Should never have been released as it is. Its bad for the eyes period!
Anything less than 1200 ppi is bad news.

Some of the first automobiles were piss poor as well but you have to start somewhere.

I tried VR in AH and do not get on with it but in iRacing it is a lot of fun.

The Vive Pro has a lot better resolution than the Rift

My eyes would be buzzing trying to constantly focus on distant objects.

Rift and all current headsets use a single focal plane so that doesn't really make sense. They are (for lack of a better term) faux-3D, not true 3D (as are all current 3D systems). The only system with multiple focal planes would possible be the Magic Leap (which is still in alpha testing/development). So it wouldn't matter what PPI you had you'd have the same issue.

If your eyes were constantly buzzing then something else is going on. Either your IPD was wrong, or you need corrective lenses in the rift (these can make a massive difference).

NO!

When you can see the displays static substrate.................... .

I'm sorry but I spent too much time trying it out.
My own DIY VR set, with 4K panels is proof of the pudding. I'm sorry but you cannot defend the rift. Not ready for primetime.
I demo'ed the Vive, no better.
One day I will finish my version. Maybe try again.
