Assbackwards reply format.

    Many popular and successful  sites offer the latest reply first and first at the end of the list.  Many subscribers check the same posting several times and don't want to muddle through replies that have already been read to get to the new stuff.  Inverting the reply order would be much better.

Just click the small blue icon that says "new" after the thread title. That will take you to where you left off when there are new replies.

There is also an option in the user profile to show new posts at the top.

Like others have said, this format is the most popular.

  I like it best.  It is nice to read a thread in chronological order from top to bottom.  Putting the newest at the top may be handy sometimes, but it makes it hard to follow the thread.
