This aircraft was flown by Lentomestari Unto Oksala during Finland's Continuation War against the Soviet Union. Oksala joined the Finnish Air Force in 1935 and as part of LeLv 44 flew 40 sorties against the invading Soviet forces in a Bristol Blenheim bomber during the Winter War of 1939-1940. During the 1941-44 Continuation War against the Soviets he continued to fly Blenheims until in April 1943 he received JK-268, one of 23 Ju-88A-4 bombers sold to Finland by their ally Germany. In November 1943 he was awarded Finland's highest military decoration, the Mannerheim Cross. He continued to fly this Ju-88 until the end of the war and retired from the Finnish Air Force in 1948.
