Joe was a friend to many of us in the flying community. I have been blessed with his friendship and have many fond memories from Air Warrior conventions to the many years in Aces High. I remember at one Air Warrior convention in Indianapolis, I walked over to White Castle and bought one of those huge take-out boxes of around 50 burgers late one night. I walked into the convention room and Joe looked at the box, then into my eyes and said: "Gimme, Gimme".
Many times I would be in a pickle with enemy planes and I would hear on vox: "I'm coming in Jim", then: "he's dead Jim, you're clear". I'm sure many of us have great memories of Joe. His passing is a great loss to us all.
