Version 2 problems
« on: September 14, 2001, 09:25:00 AM »
It doesn't happen every time, but when saving/exiting a terrain, the objects change.

Example 1, Towers change ID # :  I have been working on a terrain for several days and the fields all have good twr0 identification and function correctly.
Suddenly, when I open the terrain after saving in Ver. 2, the field does not appear on the map.  If I move to that area I find that all of the objects are still there, but the tower has changed ID # to something other than zero.

Example 2, Pill boxes randomly appear:  At times, I will notice that there is a GunBat on the list that I did not place.
I have searched for them and found them in very odd places. Often over a sector away from where I was working!
No pattern that I can see as to when this happens.

Hello Sky Viper

If you send me your .oba file I'll look at it to see if I see anything out of the ordinary.

oba file?  Why?
There should not be anything out of the ordinary unless the editor has a bug.
Besides the which, if there was a problem it is likely not there now since I renumbered the tower.

New info:  The tower renumbering is not just in V2, it happens in both versions.

I made one adjustment to field #21, changed an ack gun position and exited. (autosave on...etc.)
When I opened it back up, Field 19's tower had changed ID# to 3.

Sending it can't hurt?
Its just an .oba file.
It may not show any problems but who knows?

Well all I can say is that problems can occur right from the 1st placement of an Airfield which is very important.

The 1st Field bug!  Once you have it, anything can happen.

1) What was the 1st Field placed.
2) What number did you give it.
3) What did you do with the orginal Tower that was at 10.24 / 10.24 grid.

I lost your email addy, so: here is the oba file.

I had set up several field groups for use in the terrain I am working on.
The bug happens at random in both terrains and has happend in 2-3 other terrains I have dinked around with.

Here's part of a file that I had put together.
It has a section at the bottom on the 1st Field Bug.

Also some other stuff,  may be useful.
