Apple Extreme - Airport Express WIFI question
« on: March 24, 2019, 08:20:48 AM »
The Extreme is my base station WIFI router. The Airport Express network extender isn't being recognized by by the Airport utility, and it's status is amber blinking light. None of the fix info I've dug up applies to Windows; only Mac, Apple devices, etc.

Anyone aware of the fix?

Thanks!  :aok :old:

I can only help to a point because I setup our Airport with a Mac. Does it have a HD inside?

HD as in hard drive? No.

This is my setup

The Extreme router seems fine. The small Express isn't communicating with the base. I've done a soft & hard reset on it. No big deal...I have a good signal as my house is kinda small :)

Is there a firmware update to either of the devices?

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

If there's no Hard Drive then a flashing amber indicates the startup was okay, but the base station detected an external condition that requires  attention. If you say you've reset it and otherwise have internet it is perhaps complaining that it needs a firmware update (which it will know is available).

How did you configure it in the first place? Is there a PC version of the Apple Airport Utility?
