I got bored (pic)
« on: January 12, 2001, 07:42:00 AM »

Got tired of the same old small field design, so I made a quick map of a new one. I know forward fields get a lot of use so I moved everything around. No more whacking all three hangars in one pass with a Lanc. Rearm pads have beed moved off the runway to keep it clear. Ack is spread out a bit more.

Like I said, I got bored. If you like it I'll re-do the rest of the fields and leave it up to you to actually build 'em. I'm no pro with the TE.

You can save the field objects you create and make them available for download.

I tried that today Jihad, it didn't work. I couldn't start a field from scratch (meaning scratch; no pre-fab field template), or modify the existing fields by deleting or moving pieces of the taxiway. I also didn't find the rearm pads in the object list, and I couldn't move them on the pre-fab field.

Another good idea that didn't pan out.

Hello Flakbait

If you goto the     aheditor/terrain
folder you will see a file called shpfilter.txt, open this with notepad.

This list of items are those that won't show up in the editor shape listing when editing a terrain.

If you remove an item from that shpfilter.txt list it then will show up.
If you add an item, that item will then not show up in the editor mode.
Try starting a new terrain to check this out.

Secondly how about going to the editor/terrain/groups  and rename one of the group items you want to rearrange
(eg AFDbl-1.obg).  Rename it something else (eg. Flak-AF.obg).
NOTE! make backup of the original!

You then can open this with note pad and remove the items that you dont want then save the changes.
Then while in the editor in you terrain select your new group, add to it, and then save it.
