Thanks Animal.  Hopefully CAST can benefit AH as much as the AWARS benefitted AW.

That is a mirror link, this one is current at all times. http://www.icongrp.com/~stagemon/cast/

>Hopefully CAST can benefit AH as much as >the AWARS benefitted AW.

I hope so too, I also hope no one gets offended that we came this way, seems to be a tad of resentment towards the influx of AW pilots showing up here.

We don't want to be misunderstood. We aren't coming here to try to take anything over or push any weight around. CAST is a group of former AW staff of all kinds, folks who enjoy helping other folks out and designing and running events. It's a community thing and a team effort.

Remember folks your going to get an influx of good folks who have flown the same sim for 5-15 years and together. They prolly feel just as awkward starting out new here as some folks feel about the sudden rush of bodies, culture shock on both sides, growing pains. You have everyone from trainers, game staff, tech support and events team all the way to producers flying here now, most of them are not lacking in the flight sim knowledge catigory. They've flown together for more then a decade and are truely in tune with each other. Getting to know them will reflect who is who. But that doesn't matter, what matters is we are all here to enjoy the same interest and have all chosen what we feel is the best sim for us right now. As well as Hi-Tech keeps it up I see a long future here. As long as big money don't get it <G>.

Glad to be here, with the lower price I now see what everyone is bragging about, I could not see beyond the price before, but it's VERY nice,.. no, excellent game. ;-)

As one of the founder members of CAST, I can confirm Animal's statement above.  I was one of the AW volunteer staff (AWARs) also until EA.com decided were no longer required.  I was extremely hurt and upset at the time, as I only ever wanted to help other players to enjoy the game, and to help keep the peace in the arenas.  CAST (Community Action & Service Team) is a totally independent group whose aim is to help the 'community' as a whole, wherever they may be.  Hopefully, once CAST members are acclimatised to Aces High, we will be able to continue to help other players here in the same way as we have done in Air Warrior.

I've been here over six months now, so I do have a bit of a head start...    :)

Thanks for the link FT_Animal, I'm sure a lot of people will benefit from the information posted there. It looks to be written from years of experience by knowledgable people in the flightsim community.

Welcome to AH.  :)

I don't think anyone is truly offended or resentful, they just don't care for the "in-your-face" attitude that some seem to bring with them. Like AW, Aces High has a tight knit community ( a young one mind you) of people who were dedicated to this sim from day 1, irregardless of monthly cost. We too have flown for many years together on various online flightsims, be it WB or AW or whatever. I'm sure had I joined AW with that same attitude I would have received the same type of response.

I think most are glad AW flyers chose AH as their next sim of choice, the increased numbers can only enhance this community and make AH better than it already is.  <S>

Wuuuuz up Griz ;-)

I just hope they don't get the impression that ALL AWers coming here are going to be,.. well,...as out spoken. <G>

When\if aw closes this will be a good thing that's happening.
