Ask him to teach you about the “energy egg” and flight path/lift vector in air to air maneuvering.  Very useful concepts to understand and apply.  :salute

The oblique loop I mentioned is an application of the energy egg concept. Pursuit curves are always part of the basic lesson.  :aok

Compare this egg from the Disney movie Planes with the real energy egg. No wonder the kids can't fly anymore.   :noid





One of the things the egg is showing us is that the inverted turn is improved by Gravity reducing radial G.

When going up or down Gravity is adding drag or thrust.

At the bottom of a vertical loop the turn is degraded by radial G.
