Ja.  Overall I like the first one better, but this one isn't too bad. :)

The actors they chose for maverick to train, they seem more like kids than grown adults.

So glad for all of these airplane combat movies. Love this stuff. Looks like it could be pretty good. Trailer didnt spoil much. Think it might have a chance.

Makes me wonder if it is because I’m twenty years older than they are, vs. the original where I was ten or fifteen years younger.

It will be a smash hit.   Tom is showing his age though.   It’s gonna’ take a lot to see past it for me.

He's supposed to be the age he is. The problem is that everything in this movie would get his character booted from the Navy, rather than promoted/assigned into the Aurora program.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

True.  Plus, a 30+ plus year career Captain wouldn't be anything other than senior management of some sort, maybe.

Yeah, but it doesn't work for me.   He almost appears as if he's trying too hard to appear younger.   In some scenes I hear a record scratching.

Or flying to airshows and waving like Steve Ritchie.

The most expensive pieces of equipment I saw 30+ career military folks pushing when I was in were staplers and typewriters.

Though the Airforce mantra for pilots when I served is that EVERYONE flies - including staff commanders and all senior staff who have wings.  Everyone.  I saw it in the Gulf War especially when I was there. Saw Horner suit up several mornings to take part of his CAP for the wing in his F-16.

The moment it was announced they already had my money, just hoping it doesn't tarnish the legacy of the original too much. Tough to do a sequel 35 years later.

You can't be too picky I guess.

I see service people of all branches all the time.
Trust me. To me they almost  ALL look more like kids then adults. Same thing with cops.
