A little help please

In DX 11 I was kidding stutters when I was within 4 to 500 yards from enemy aircraft. I switched over 2 DX 9 and the same problem occurred. Now to exit game in dx 9 I have to use control, alt, delete.
My question is if I down load the game over the existing game will it solve the problem? My video card is an AMD 7950 3 gig card. I don't think that it is the problem. I have adjusted the environmental settings  to lesser settings.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Downloading and installing the game over your old game wont hurt anything. Id back up the settings folder just to be sure tho.

At that distance the game swaps default skins to the selected skins. Maybe disabling other plane skins helps?

I was under the impression that the swap from default skins to selected skins took place right around where the "icon distance counter" dropped/switched from reading 1K to 1,000 yards (or 800 yards?)...

Disabling other plane skins might possibly help, but you might also want to reset your videocard to use default settings....the game will/should automatically set your video settings to the Max your videocard is capable of obtaining....please correct me if I'm wrong

Actually, I have no idea when exactly it switches on enemy planes. I am sure, however, that it does switch in F3 on bombers somewhere around that distance. And when I say bombers I mean Ju88 which may have a kind of weird bug, with sometimes only parts of the skin switching.

But maybe 1cane is attacking ju88 and sees the same from the outside.

3GB doesn't seem like a lot for a video card these days.

Closing other aircraft skins made it better.
