Hennessy
« on: March 04, 2020, 05:12:15 PM »
Monday my brother took his ZL1-1LE to Hennesy for the 850 package. They sent him the dyno video today of the before. 584 hp at the rear wheels. The dealership had tweaked it a bit adding 30 to 45 HP so that fits in about right... the engine, at the crank, is about 100 HP more than that.

My 2005 2500HD crewcab diesel is just 80HP less at the rear wheels.   :devil

And after reading the title, I thought we were going to talk about Brandy. Oh well.

Well, you know Shuffler, always keeping you guessing.  I looked it up, he's talking about a car and, I think, a truck.  Or possibly a locomotive.  It's a diesel, one way or the other.

Got a 2011 2500HD LML. Tuned and fully deleted. Injector pump conversion back to cp3. I would love to get it on a dyno. I know it won’t be anything crazy. But I’d imagine over 500 :)

Love a good ol Duramax.

You can get them setup for a lot of power. I had mine built just for pulling trailers whenever the need arises.

I have seen them way north of 1000.

Engines and trans are usually bullet proof too.

The front end bodywork isn't strong enough but the ZL1 we ran at KSC had 770hp at the wheels on a dyno dynamics dyno (also known as the "dream crusher".

It would probably dyno over 800 on a mustang dyno.

The hood, grille, and bumper cover were damaged from the loads at 200mph.

Same thing happens to the C5 corvettes but ours broke at 250mph.

Yup as long as you dyno on the same machine you can see what improvements you have. You sure never want to do comparisons using a mustang then dynamics dyno. LOL

Guys would get a crate motor, hamstring it with a badly engineered install and exhaust.
So many claims of 500+hp end up being 380hp or less.

Chevy engines are so overrated, when it come to GM engines I prefer true Pontiac engines. At least I don't have to rev it to ungodly rpm's to get horsepower!!!

He's talking about engine specs. I thought this was about a spa resort in Tennessee.   :devil
