This guy isn't doing VR or anything fancy.

He just wants to fly around and not have clouds reduce his frame rate to 15 fps.

Let's see what happens when he puts "environment map" slider to 0 and disables reflections.

I'm thinking his current card will be fine.

Yeah those two settings alone will help dramatically and IMO you won't really be missing much. I disable the post processing effects too like bloom etc.

I am not doing VR. Using a Track IR, but that has not had any affect.

Will be looking to upgrade sometime this year once I save my shekels.

I agree Brooke - he can also reduce some of his other settings such as ground, object, and terrain detail. For us pilots, you only need to see the ground when you're ready to land...

Here is what I found.

In flight without clouds is 53-57 fps.
With clouds gets me 35-43 with a drop to about 15 when I get into the clouds.

Running Nvidia GeForce GT740 and yes, I know I need an upgrade soon.

I wish that there were detailed overlay help/suggestions on some of these panels.  Never really sure of what the advantages vs the trades offs are on these things.

I have a pretty good computer i7-7820@3.60GHz, 32GB RAM, GTX 1080 Ti card and when I used to play I always turned off post lighting, reflections, shadows, ground clutter.

There is nothing wrong with the graphics in AH but running the extra fruit adds nothing and solid FPS is much better for you.  I was able to run 144 FPS no matter what with the fruit turned off.
