Out of the thousand scenario fights I've gotten into over the years, I don't remember even one where the difference between me losing and winning was 10% more climb rate.
Our climb rate is decent. But at the altitudes we'll be fighting at, even if we had 10% more, we aren't going to be climbing away from 109's or D-9's.
Anyway, since we're using the plane types that were there, no D-40's -- or M's, or N's.
We'll be in D-25's.
I'm fine with it.
I'm flying a P-47D-25 myself, and eager to take it to Jerry.
It is a man's plane! For real men, who fly in a manly fashion! For men who would be lumberjacks or race-car drivers if not flying P-47's for the side of goodness and rightness!
