So the question really is where are the rules/objectives/explanation so that you could possibly understand the game.  Well it doesn’t exist!  There is a little bit here and little bit there and a great portion of what you will find is outdated.  You will find some videos on YouTube explaining basics and such.  Mostly this game is learn as you play, kinda like real life :)

Dougie

There is not a book for a complete newborn to gaming. There is a learning g curve and time involved. Reading a manual and being the number one killer will not happen.

Fly, drive, and float.... have fun and learn the game.

But in order to take off in DCS you gotta remember 30 keybinds and probably fail for 20minutes before you takeoff, then engage, then forget the radiar/IF missile keybinds and die to AI

It isnt quite that dramatic. At least in last few updates, beside we would be talking their WW2 plane set? They have come A LONG WAY with their Damage Model/Tedious Engine management/Constantly blowing engines and performance issues. I can remember the last time I fubared a Spit IX engine. Its VERY easy to get started(just designate a "Start Engine" command! Sure it is manual take off, but not that different than AH manual take off. Might want to check back into DCS. NOWHERE NEAR the Game Play as AH...but for those "dead times", more than adequate to get that fix :rock

WW2ol is like AH.. and not like it at the same time. Game-play is more focused on ground combat, with Air and Naval units some-that focused on supporting the Army's. You can't always run off and do anything you want, as there is a player run chain-of-command directing combat and allocating resources. Attrition Warfare is a large part of the game and it is quite possible to run out of resources along the front lines.

Like AH graphics is somewhat dated looking... and like AH is suffering from a downturn in their player base numbers.

I'm almost 28 and I still feel like Aces High graphics or this game's graphics are good enough lol.

Do you know what WW2 OL is like number wise? like on a weekday night are there good fights similar to aces high?

for air combat I would chose AH any day, but for the ground war WWIIonline is better in my opinion.
My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.

What I've never have understood regarding graphics in any WWII air combat mmog from Air Warrior to WarBirds to FighterAce to Targetware's Target Rabual etc etc....

Is are players here to goggle at graphics or are players here for "air combat"?

I fall in the air combat group and could care less about graphics, putting them last on my list of what might need updated....because in a down and dirty dogfight graphics are not even ever registering in my thought process

did everyone record AW III in F5 view..... don't think I ever seen a video where it was just cockpit view, like here in Aces High.... although AWIII had 3 different view settings in the cockpit....

If you can have both, plus people rushing towards the fight instead of away from it.  then I'm in.
