Ear damage

Anyone know how to reduce sound of gear up landing and 88 fire?
I find it physically painful and must be hurting my hearing.
Reducing main sound means I cant hear other stuff.

Clipboard>Options>Preferences>Game Sounds>Advanced button. The list there isn't too detailed but hopefully you can find a working compromise.

You should be able to find it

I have to fly with most everything turned down to 20% or lower

Except external plane engines and enemy plane firing, so I can try to hear others on vox

Due to being 1/2 deaf in both ears

What happened to the sound setting for "wind"?

That was useful as it gave a sense of speed but it has been missing for a while

Think it's the actuators you want to turn down.....it reduces the sound on the flaps, tank turret, bomb bay doors, etc.... I turned those all way down long ago.

Yes.  I miss the adjustable wind sound too.  I always had it turned way up to get a sense of airspeed.

Tried all the advanced settings.
Still get painfully loud sounds when I land gear up and fire 88 guns.
Would welcome a solution.

If you can't change the volume of those needed, I suppose the only solution would be to make new sounds to those two.

Also, depending on the plane you fly, with Chalenge's excellent, but incomplete Sick Puppy Sound Pack, the actuators, at least as I recall on the P-51 are more realistic than the basic game sounds....that is they are much more quiet, like the real thing.  Chalenge has also recently set up an installer for the pack in the "Custom Sounds" forum.

One solution might be to turn your overall volume down then turn up the individual sounds you want.
