Downloading others terrain??
« on: August 28, 2000, 08:10:00 PM »
I have attempted to join other H2H games that have a DL of the hosts terrain but it will not load-just stops. I have also been getting a lot of returns to desktop, screen freezes and some error messages when using the terrain editor.  The regular AH terrain works ok for H2H.  No idea why the new terrains wont work.

The 2 times that I joined a H2H session that used a custom terrain, it downloaded and worked fine.

Anyone else having BBGunn's problem ?

I get the download ok, but why do you only get the .res, and not the .pln or .fld files when downloading?

As far as I understand:

The .res file contains all the files inside it. (except the clipboard map)
The files in the folder for your terrain are like "source code".
The .res file is like the "compiled" copy.

There will be a new version of the editor coming out that includes the map files in the .res file.

The few H2H I have hosted with my small terrrain "tank" has loaded for other OK however after an hour or so of play I get dumped.  Each time I relog the dump gets more frequent.  System resources getting low?  I finally had to reboot my comp and then relog.  However all the others that were on earlier got bored and went onto bigger and better things : (

Thins may need to go under bug fixes.
