Installer taking forever

Howdy,

I played this a massively long time ago, and had great fun doing so.
I got a hankering for flight sims recently, and discovered AH3 again.

I've got fairly decent internet speeds, and the install starts out at about 3,000kbps - alleging an 11 minute download.

After about a minute or two, this whittles down to ~250kbps and leaves me with an install time of over an hour.
Restarting the install gives the same result, and there is no way to buy the DVD of AH3 anymore.

Nothing else is sapping my bandwidth.

Any idea on how to install this 500mb game in less than several hours?

A couple questions:

Is Aces High the only program/file that causes problems when downloading very large files?

Are you trying to patch from an existing install, or downloading the game from scratch?  (Also, are you downloading via Steam, perhaps?)

Have you tried resetting your modem?  Turn it off, leave off for about a minute or so, then plug it back in and let reboot (probably take a few minutes)
