Ki67s capable of sinking uninjured CV?

I had a set, each carrying 15 50kg bombs. That's 2250kg, or ~4960lbs--well short of the 8000lbs I understood it takes to take one down. The enemy CV had not been attacked for well over an hour, so there couldn't have been any residual damage that my buffs added on to. Is my understanding of the damage needed to sink a CV incorrect, or is this a glitch of some sort?
I landed 4884 damage points, if that matters.

The 50 kg bombs does a lot more than ~110 lbs of damage, if i remember it correctly its closer to 200. so with all the bombs on Point it should be doable to kill a CV. with 45 bombs 178 lbs/bomb is required.
