This is my second Spitfire skin for the Dieppe scenario, it is an update to an existing Jocko417 skin originally submitted in 2012.
The RAF's 310 Squadron was formed in 1940 using ex-Czechoslovak Air Force pilots who had fought in the Battle of France and escaped across the Channel to continue the fight against the Nazis. They fought in the later stages of the Battle of Britain as part of Douglas Bader's Duxford Wing scoring 37.5 kills. They remained an RAF squadron until their aircraft and pilots were incorporated into the post-war Czech Air Force in 1946. On the 19th August 1942 this 310 Squadron aircraft flown by Flt/Lt Bohuslav Kimlicka was flying cover as part of Operation Jubilee, the disastrous attempt to land British and Canadian troops at Dieppe. Flt/Lt Kimlicka claimed a Do 217 as damaged on this day. The white stripes on the nose and tail were a short-lived fighter recognition marking being used by the RAF's 11 Group at this time.
