Thanks, G.   Most of mine were adoptions so I don't have any objection to you working on those.

The few I can think of that I would like to do again are GENTLE ANNIE, LITTLE RED HEAD II, and CURLY SIX.    I can't think of any others that I'm invested in beyond those.   I'll look at the list just to be sure, but I think you can go for it on some of the iconic ones like MARGE if you want them.

I also want to do VIRGINIA MARIE and LOUISE again, along with Zemke's 823-Z.    The rest are fair game.   Have at it and thanks for the consideration.

Its not really a problem for me as I've got plenty of other P-38 subjects I can skin without having to revisit your work. But it is useful to know what you are both doing in case I get a skin request from a player or for a scenario.

I'll most likely make Jack Ilfrey's natural metal P-38J from the 20th FG "Happy Jack's Go Buggy" my first subject, as it was my first P-38 skin ever in the game way back when.   Just seems fitting to me to continue that tradition. I'm fond of the bare aluminum finish with yellow spinners and nacelle bands; I think it suits the P-38 and looks sharp.

I'm also interested in doing "Trigor Mortis II", a red-trimmed P-38J from the 475th FG, and also looking at "Gung Ho", a 367th FG P-38L.

Of my former P-38s, I'll probably work on skins from this group:

P-38Gs:
49FG/9FS by Oboe   "Beautiful Lass"
35FG/39FS by Oboe   Tommy Lynch's "White 10" Sharkmouth theme

P-38Js:
8FG/80FS by Oboe   "Jandina II"
479FG/434FS by Oboe   "Little Edris"
55FG/38FS by Oboe   "Journey's End"
370FG/485FS by Oboe   "My Little Pig"

P-38Ls:
49FG/8FS by Oboe   Itsy Bitsy II
80FG/459FS by Oboe   Geronimo

The rest of my P-38s I'm planning to just leave go.

I'm most of the way through skinning the 485th FS P-38L "Les Vin, Les Femmes et Les Chansons". After that I'll skin a PTO P-38J, possibly one that I did before, the 12th FS "St Louis Blues".

Lyric1's found me some new subjects including a 39th FS P-38G with late 1943 red-rimmed markings as well as "Kwitcherpis'n" a 402nd FS P-38J.

Of my other old skins I'll likely redo the following:-

P-38G:-
459th FS, Frances Rebel
37th FS, (desert camo)
55th FG, Texas Ranger

P-38J:-
431st FS, Wanda/Madu

P-38L:-
96th FS, Gotterdamerung
459th FS, Melba Lou IV
49th FS, Elsie
36th FS, Pay Off

Looks good to me, guys.

We can always bump this thread as needed down the road.

Well you can do it without me as I've not gotten the official endorsement from the Butthurt Brigade:

Can't wait to see new P-38 skins roll off your [Greebo's] and Oboe's assembly line! <S>

He just can't help himself.  What a schmuck.

I would also like to see Whiteman take a shot at some '38s.   His paint fading, staining and chipping is so good on the Corsairs; I'd like to see his treatment on an olive drab '38.

Are there any dedicated P-38 squads any more (beside the 80thFS) who would like a skin?  Seems like at one time we had the 475th Satan's Angels, 479th Riddle's Raiders, 80th Headhunters, the 49th FG, and I think the 82nd FG.  Interest in historical-based squads seems to have waned, or at least I'm not running into them any more.

I honestly thought about doing a J, it's my favorite of the 3. I'm working on a Hellcat template right now then the two Wildcats, then most certainly a possibility.
