An amazing guitarist.  He was influenced by those who came before, but took that to an new level and influenced decades of guitarists after.  NOBODY else can say that for my generation.  RIP Eddie.  I Don't Feel Tardy!  :rock

An interview with Eddie Van Halen 5 years ago at Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

Lots of interesting stuff in this one that I didn't previously know.

It's said Eddie invented the hammerons for guitar and while he was a talented musician he didnt invent the style. That goes back to a musician who played with Arthur Brown's crazy world and later formed the band called Atomic Rooster.

His name is John Du Cann, you can look up some old Rooster on Utube and see his work, then watch Van Halen, when Eddie actually lets you see what he's doing.

Rip Eddie, maybe in another 20 years or so Keith Richards will join you.

Keith Richards has mastered various arcane arts and rituals such that he cannot be killed by conventional weapons or natural maladies.
