Thrustmaster HOTAS need help
« on: October 29, 2020, 02:23:16 PM »
Hello everyone, for whatever reason I cannot get the Yaw (rudder) function to work on my HOTAS stick  :cry, I do not have the pedals for it but i was assuming I wouldn't need them with it having the twist function, if anyone has any advice it would be appreciated, im not very technologically savvy :)

Did you assign yaw to the twist axis?

Should just be a setting issue. In your control mapping, have you specifically selected the Z-axis for the Yaw? Also, have you calibrated the stick in-game?

One note: If you're using VR, the controls must be mapped while wearing/in VR mode.

I did assign it to the yaw Axis, for some reason still no input, and yes I did calibrate the stick in game and out. On the good ole logitech 3d pro its simply plug and play, My throttle has a X and Y slider on the hotas which can also act as the rudder but im getting no input from either. It may be something I just have to keep tinkering with. Secondly  I dont have VR just yet Spindoc1. thank you guys for your input  :rock

When you twist the stick do you see the numbers change on the axis assigned to yaw?

Do you see anything in the controller setup change when you twist the stick?

I assume you can see the pitch and roll axis change when you move the stick and with the stick selected in setup you see 3 axis?

Is there an on/off  switch for the twist axis? Which model is it?

No i sure don't FLS, in the instruction manual it mentions the twist being a RZ axis, I don't know if AH supports that it not

When you are in the clipboard controller settings make sure you have the stick selected, you'll see numbers change when you move the stick, then look for numbers changing when you rotate the stick.

AH supports the controller. All axis and buttons seen by Windows are available in AH.

In Windows /Control Panel /Devices and Printers you should see your joystick listed, right click and select game controller settings. That will let you test and calibrate the stick in Windows and you can see if the twist axis shows up there. If it's active in Windows it will work in AH.

Leave this window open and run AH

I have to do this to get all my hotas to work

Yes this is a workaround I also found out about by tinkering.
Eventually though the game or the gods accepted the settings and I never leave the hotas control panel open.

Create a shortcut to your hotas control panel. Also make sure it's switched to pc mode and not xbox if it's a hotas one.
