Every time I start my machine I have to go through a mess to get CH gear working is AH. I usually just give up.
On the flip side, I am building two new machines for the shop. You just can't find any decent pre-built out there right now. Folks bought them up to work from home.
Might have something else that'll help. What happens is windows has a tendency to lose track of the CH stuff for whatever reason after a shutdown. None of my other controllers do this, BTW. I picked this tip up from the old CH forums years ago. There's a little program that'll help.
Look in your CH folder for an exe called CMStart. On my PC it's in Program files(86)/CHProducts. Put CMStart in your startup folder so it runs when windows starts. On startup it'll run, you'll hear the ka-ding like something just connected (because it did). It just runs momentarily and reconnects things. Your controllers should be there now. This does not mean you won't have to go in and reset the profile for them in CH Control Manager! Unfortunately, you'll still have to go thru that. As you saw last week in FSO after telling you how to do it I forgot! Wondered why my engine wasn't starting! Duh!
I think it's just a Win10 thing. When I had Win7 I never had to reset the profile, it always remembered what I had set it to last and it didn't change unless I went into CM and changed it. Now I have to go in every time and set it. It is what it is. Once VKB comes out with their throttle, it'll be a thing of the past for me.
